Wedding Jewelry Trends of 2019 and 2020

Every year the jewelry game keeps upgrading. In the past, wedding jewelry consisted of two similar wedding bands with different sizes for the couple. Today, wedding bands can be slightly similar or completely different from each other. There are even wedding bands that complete each other.

The past year has been a big change for jewelers who had to challenge themselves to make unique designs for couples. Some already know what they want, but others request for specific designs that are one of a kind.

For this list, we will discuss the biggest trends for wedding bands in 2019 and the incoming trends for 2020.

2019 Wedding Jewelry Trends

  1. Jewelry Sets

This has been around for a while, but in 2019, we noticed that brides have decided to go bigger and bolder. You could see that their jewelry sets consisted of large pendant necklaces, chandelier earrings, and sparkly bracelets.

  1. Extra Rings

While it is not conventional to wear other rings, some brides decided to add other rings to their fingers like thinner rings and midi rings. It doesn’t take the attention away from the wedding band and engagement ring, but it does look good as additional accessories.

  1. Engagement-ring Like Wedding Bands

The most prominent trend we noticed was that women were choosing wedding bands with large diamonds. They looked more like engagement rings than wedding rings, but their bands did match their spouse’s band. The only difference was that they had more diamonds. If you want a wedding band with Vancouver diamonds, you can get wholesale diamonds for an affordable price.

  1. Jewels on the Dress

Swarovski, diamonds, rare gemstones, common gemstones – many brides who like sparkly dresses have opted to go further with their dresses by adding these embellishments. The more expensive the stones, the more expensive the dress. It’s also exponentially more expensive because these stones need to be added by hand.

  1. Groom Jewelry

Even grooms have upped their accessory game because many grooms request for diamond cufflinks or gold cufflinks. They also tend to wear bracelets or chains with their tuxedoes as well. This is different for every groom, but we noticed that even grooms wanted a little bling for their big day.

Upcoming Wedding Jewelry Trends for 2020

In 2020, the former trends will still thrive but jewelry experts are looking into bigger and bolder designs for their clients. Here are the trends you can expect in 2020:

  1. More Diamonds

Diamonds are less expensive now, so many couples are opting to get more diamonds integrated into their wedding bands and other accessories. Even watches can get diamonds encrusted into them.

  1. Other Gemstones

Jewelers are expecting lots of orders for other rare gems like emeralds, rubies, sapphires, yellow, blue, and pink diamonds, and so much more. It won’t necessarily be just for the wedding band, but brides may use the gems for earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.

  1. Cluster Designs

The cluster design is composed of different sized gems that are made into wedding band designs. It’s great for both couples because it can be used as a unisex design.

  1. Hair Jewelry

Goodbye flower crowns, hello diamond and gold crowns. There has been an increase in orders for head jewelry and even the fashion magazines are covering these new trend for brides.
